The Resource Nurse conducts the nursing process, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation under the scope of the State's Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure to include resource utilization and care intervention.  

Here is what we are looking for:

  • Valid RN or LVN with current state licensure
  • A minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a fast paced patient care setting required 
  • Experience in a post-acute setting preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for care interventions and interdisciplinary communication to enhance patient and family satisfaction, adherence to properties clinical systems and regulatory compliance for the property
  • Auditing charts for documentation completion
  • Performing venipuncture for lab draws and including appropriate specimen labeling and obtaining laboratory results via inhouse lab
  • Notify physicians of critical labs while ensuring proper documentation in the EHR
  • Will assist with direct patient care up to and including a complete patient assignment
  • Performs new admission assessments, receives and verifies new orders and treatments and enters the data into the electronic medical record
  • Completes required documentation in the electronic medical record in compliance with BTC policy and state and/or federal regulations
  • Communicates with physicians, patients, and/or responsible parties regarding changes in patients conditions, diagnostic test results, etc.
  • Collects, reviews trending and analyzes patient data
  • Assists with admissions and discharges of patients to ensure a smooth transition
  • Maintains regular and ongoing communication with BTC's medical director and other medical staff to ensure each patient receives appropriate care and services
  • Serves as an educational resource for patients and their families on health-related issues
  • Creates and maintains a positive work environment as reflected in staff satisfaction
  • Responsible for quality assurance and assessment, infection control, and staff development as determined by the Chief Nursing Officer
  • Complete the Daily List on a daily basis
  • Make rounds on the patient for which you are responsible daily
  • Answer call lights in a timely manner, be alert to patients comforts and needs, and answer their requests promptly
  • Lift, move and transfer patients as required. This involves the ability to safely transfer patients who cannot bear their own weight. It also involves the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting in excess of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations. Manual dexterity required performing tasks in assisting patients with their personal needs
  • Safely utilize equipment. Report any equipment needing service or repair immediately
  • Participate in emergency fire or disaster drills and other in-service training as scheduled. Must be able to safely ascend and descend stairwells and assist in an evacuation
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance in accordance with property absence policies
  • Use appropriate work place behavior and adhere to dress code at all times
  • Complete assigned training on time and/or attend training classes when schedule
  • Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations
  • Promotes positive public relations with patients, family members and guests

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • As assigned this may include evenings, weekends, holidays and be in call rotation as assigned.
