The Admissions Coordinator provides support to the Director of Admissions by assisting in the completion of preadmissions and admissions activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Admissions Coordinator provides support to the Director of Admissions by assisting in the completion of preadmissions and admissions activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.  Associates degree or higher in business, marketing, or health care related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with a hospitality mindset.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data entry and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Position Reports to Director of Admissions

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate entries in Referral Manager.
  • Verifying Medicare Eligibility and submitting for benefit verification.
  • Verifying medication costs on pharmacy website and receive approval if necessary.
  • New Chart Creation in Unity.
  • Execution of Admission Paperwork after admission if needed.
  • Creation of Blue Information Folders for new admits if needed.
  • Cross train as Clinical Concierge.
  • Fielding questions, phones calls, and in-person visits from families regarding potential admissions.
  • Provide clients (prospective patients and their families and referral sources) with property and program specific information via community outreach and networking, tours, personal visits and assessments, presentations and follow up.
  • Coordinate with clinical liaisons to ensure all information is completed and received for pending admission.
  • Greeting new admissions upon arrival.
  • Answering phone timely.
  • Check-in visitors and assist with screening.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Ability to adhere to a flexible schedule which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
